I tried it and it was tasty. I'm impressed the owner put together a special for his loyal customers. I was able to taste various entries for a good price. I was able to purchase a value meal to introduce my colleague to LEON'S. They were impressed too. They will want to introduce their friends to the flavorful meal.
Goes without saying the BBQ was delicious! And the customer service was especially friendly and gave me great smiles. I also liked all the pictures of the Obamas and others on the walls. The seating area was warm, inviting and comfortable. It was my first time but definitely not the last.
Enjoyed the semisweet heat of the sauce. The sausage had multiple layers of flavor with a nice level of kick.
I didn't visit Leon's Kitchen but the Hydepark Environmental Nature Garden across the street. If you're looking for an outdoor garden to enjoy your BBQ dinner, you're welcome to have a seat at one of the tables in the garden when opened to the public.
I harkened back to the 1980’s at Leon’s on the corner of 83rd & Cottage Grove and French fries smothered in “Leon Sauce” so when my wife said “barbecue for Mother’s Day” I immediately jumped on-line and ordered a slab, tip-link combo and large fries with extra sauce. This location off 63rd & Stony Island may be “new” but this food is consistently DELICIOUS. I have no idea what the relationship is to the other two “Leon’s” locations that claim to be the “original,” but this location was started by my dear friend Dr. Leon Finney, Jr., and this food is authentic and amazing!
Had an issue with my first order through Uber and it was an easy fix Thanks to Chuck. Haven’t had Leon’s since it was one by the Regal Theater . Glad they’re back around and I’ll be back to this location.
Hey, Denzel searched the South Side of Chicago looking for the best barbecue he'd ever had! When you have the ribs you'll feel like a star too! King Kong ain't got nothing on Leon's!
